The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority. Tutor Chooser is committed to maintaining the highest safeguarding standards across every aspect of our platform.
Safeguarding refers to the measures we take to protect children from harm, abuse or neglect during private tuition. This applies to all forms of tutoring, including in-person lessons and online sessions. Our approach is built on three core principles:
1) Prevention - Ensuring only qualified, trusted tutors are listed on our platform
2) Transparency - Giving parents access to the information they need to make safe choices
3) Responsiveness - Acting swiftly and seriously in the event of any concern
All tutors on Tutor Chooser must pass a multi-stage approval process, which includes:
1) Identity verification
2) Qualification checks
3) A valid UAE Police Clearance Certificate
No tutor is approved to join the platform without a current police clearance issued by either Dubai Police or the UAE Ministry of Interior.
While we take every precaution in reviewing tutor applications, the final decision to work with tutors remains with the parent. We recommend:
1) Meeting the tutor (in person or online) before lessons begin
2) Remaining present or nearby during in-person sessions, particularly for younger children
3) For remote tutoring, using online platforms with built-in recording features for transparency
For online lessons, we recommend using secure platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Tutors should never contact students through personal social media accounts or messaging apps.
All communication should remain professional, respectful and lesson-related.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a tutor on our platform, you may contact us immediately at hereforyou@tutorchooser.ae. Every report will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.
Where appropriate, we may suspend or permanently remove a tutor from the platform and notify relevant authorities.
Tutor Chooser will continue to review and strengthen our safeguarding standards as the platform grows. We are guided by the principles of child protection used in British and International schools, while staying aligned with UAE laws and cultural expectations.
